Noah's Ark Gives to Others ![]() have always participated annually in service projects: Fall 2001 Noah's Ark sent 12 large boxes filled with blankies and stuffed animals to the children of Lutheran preschools of Lower Mahattan - 9/11 Christmas 2000 - 2004 Noah's Ark families has supplied Christmas presents and food each year for 6 - 12 families in need. Fall 2003 The children brought in many old towels and blankets for the 8th Ave. County Animal Shelter Fall 2000 - Present Every Thanksgiving each of the seven classes collects food items and a $10 grocery store gift card to fill a box for a family in need. Many of these boxes are given to Ishikawa to be given to families of the school. Others are given to Lutheran Ministries. Christmas - For the past three years the children have joined together with Camelback Christian Preschool to provide food, clothing, toys for children who live at a Christian orphanage near Rocky Point Mexico. The items fill a pickup and van. Spring - Trike-a-thon In 6 years, Noah's Ark children have raised over $20,000 riding tricycles, bicycles, scooters for St. Jude's Childrens Hospital. The children ride to the sick boys and girls. As one four year old Noah's Ark child once said, "It is hard work but it is worth it to put a smile on their faces!" Summer 2007 Children and staff raised $400 for Bibles to be distributed to churches in Cambodia through Cambodian Ministries for Christ. Fall 2007 The parents and staff raised $3000 for a family of 8 who were living in a small travel trailer and needed money for the deposits on a place to live . They also gave $1000 so a teacher could have cataract surgery. Winter/Spring 2007-2008 The children collected items to send to servicemen in Afghanistan. June 2008 Noah's Ark sponsored 16 children from Sunshine Acres Chilren's Home for a fun week at Custom Garage Summer Camp October 2008 Lutheran Social Ministries Food Bank Drive November 2008 Operation Christmas Child Thanksgiving Food boxes December 2008 Christmas for the orphange in Rocky Point Mexico March 2009 St. Jude's Trike-a-Thon May 2009 Six members of Noah's Ark staff went to Panama on a mission trip. Each member of the team raised their own money for the trip and supplies. Mrs. Jan and Ms. Brigitte are also planning to go back to Panama to provide training in children's ministries sometime in 2010. Thank you to all who helped us fulfill this dream. We had a wonderful watching God work in the lives of the children and adults we worked with. It changed all our lives for the better. November 2009 - the families of Noah's Ark put together over 35 shoeboxes for the Samaritan's Purse Shoebox ministry. December 2009 - Again this year, we sent a full truckload of gifts and household supplies to the Esperanza orphange in Rocky Point, Mexico. Thank you to all our families for sharing with others. God has blessed us! Giving Plans for 2010 March is Trike-A-Thon month. The children will be collecting money from families and friends to go to St Judes Hospital for Children. They bring their bikes and trikes to do laps around the parking lot. It is a ton of fun! ![]() |
